Recently, Korea government has given an institutional emphasis on housing welfare and energy-efficient houses, where prefab housing can be applied as a new type of housing. However, prefab housing is still identified with the image of cheap container housing in Korea. Therefore, to correct the misunderstanding about prefabricated buildings, relevant terms should be defined, while its difference from cheap housing should be established. In line with this, the present study analyzes the policy efforts in Australia and New Zealand to derive implications for the development of prefabricated housing in Korea, involving six major aspects, namely: (1) building cooperative networks; (2) institutional and policy changes; (3) shift in awareness via programs; (4) developing new design tools and systems; (5) sustainable energy saving design, and lastly, (6) sustainable management system and warranty program.-
