- Abstract
- A new model in which an iterative detection is supported by extrinsic information from equalisers is proposed. Furthermore, the system performance involving extrinsic information from an opposite direction one-dimensional soft output Viterbi algorithm is examined. The work is applied to holographic data storage (HDS) systems. The HDS systems are well known as a future storage system because of their extremely large storage capacity and high data transfer rates. However, the system faces two-dimensional interference challenges. The results show that the proposed model vastly improves the performance of the HDS system under severe interference.
