아동기 학대와 자살사고의 관계에서 용서의 조절효과

Abstract

본 연구는 아동기에 경험한 신체 및 정서 학대가 자살사고에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 이러한 관계에서 용서의 조절효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 특히 용서의 개념을 자기용서, 타인용서, 상황용서의 세 가지로 구분하여 각각의 용서가 지니는 긍정적인 기능을 세부적으로 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울 소재 대학생 247명(남자 143명, 여자 104명)을 대상으로 아동기 학대 경험(K-CTQ), 자살사고(SIQ), 용서(HFS)를 측정하고, 위계적 회귀분석과 단순 주효과 분석을 실시하여 각각의 용서에 따른 조절효과를 살펴보았다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동기 신체 및 정서 학대 경험은 자살사고에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 이는 아동기 학대 경험이 많을수록 자살 위험성이 높을 수 있음을 의미한다. 둘째, 용서의 세 가지 하위개념 중 자기용서와 상황용서는 아동기 학대와 자살사고의 관계에서 유의한 조절효과를 보인 반면, 타인용서의 조절효과는 유의하지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 상담 장면에서, 아동기 학대 피해자의 자기용서와 상황용서를 증진시킴으로써 그들의 자살사고를 완화시킬 수 있음을 의미한다. 연구 결과를 토대로 용서의 긍정적인 기능을 세분화하여 연구할 필요성을 제시하였으며, 본 연구의 의의 및 제한점과 추후 연구에 대한 제언 등을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the moderating effect of forgiveness(self-, other-, and situation-forgiveness) on suicidal ideation in young adults with childhood abuse history. Two hundred forty-seven undergraduate students were recruited to complete a set of questionnaires of childhood abuse (K-CTQ), suicidal ideation (SIQ), and forgiveness (HFS). Hierarchical regression analysis and simple main effect analysis were conducted by SPSS 20.0. The results showed that the experience of physical and emotional childhood abuse have significant effect on suicidal ideation. Furthermore, the results demonstrated that self-forgiveness and situation-forgiveness have the moderating effect on this relationship, but other-forgiveness did not have significant moderating effect. The findings of this study suggest that enhancing self-forgiveness and situation- forgiveness can alleviate suicidal ideation on victims of childhood abuse. The clinical implications and limitations of this study are discussed.
