비공식적 돌봄 자원이기혼여성의 출산의도에 미치는 영향 – 조부모를 중심으로 -

Abstract

본 연구는 비공식적 돌봄자원이 기혼여성의 출산의도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 한 연구이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 여성정책연구원의 2011년 제3차 여성가족패널자료(KLoWF)를 활용하여 20세에서 39세의 가임기 기혼여성 2,001명을 선정하였고, 친정부모와시부모가 자녀를 위한 비공식 돌봄자원으로 기능할 수 있는지, 그리고 이들 자원의 존재여부가 기혼여성의 자녀출산 의도에 미치는 영향을 기술분석 및 이항로지스틱 회귀분석을 통해살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 인구사회학적 특징으로는 응답자의 연령, 동거가족원 수 등이, 독립변수로 선정한 시부모와의 접근성, 시부모와의 관계성 등이 기혼여성의 출산의도가 유의한 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 응답자의 연령이 어릴수록, 동거가족원 수가 적을수록, 시부모와거주지가 가까울수록, 시부모와 관계가 원만할수록 기혼여성의 출산 의도에 긍정적 영향을주는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 이러한 연구결과에 따라 몇 가지 실천적･정책적 함의를 제시하였다.

This study aimed to look at the effects of informal care resources on women’s fertility intension, specially focused on grandparent caregiving role. For this, this study used the 3th National Women and Families Panel(KLoWF) data collected from Korea Women’s Development Institute on 2011. Informal care resource was conceptualized as the physical (residence distance) and psychological(emotional relationship) distance between respondents and their parents. In order to examine the relationship between two variables, logistic regression analysis was performed. The results showed that the residence distance and the relationship between mother-in-law and respondents, the age of respondents, and the number of family living were identified as statistically significant variables in explaining women’s fertility intension. Based on that, several policy and practical implication were suggested.
