Abstract
This study is to find the solution of the noisy through floor problems in apartment units. The summary of the study result are shown as follows; To solve the noisy through floor and also to provide space for children to run and play at the same time, double layer structure is required. Therefore, the design of the double layer structure is to be two-story height, and considering the average physical growth average of children and adolescents, the height of 1600mm or less was proposed. Also, when the apartment units are changed to vertically space division, that is, a double layer structure, the number of divisions in the same surface area can be increased up to 1.5 times whereas the height of the building is increased 1.5 times. Therefore, the spatial advantage was verified in the economical perspective compared to the existing space. The survey result showed that approximately more than 57% of the residents in apartment units were experiencing inconvenience due to noisy through floor. Especially more than 73% pointed out of the children running and playing as its cause. Also, for the detailed solutions to the noisy through floor, introduction of new construction technique (62%) > understanding between neighbors (18%) > utilization of noiseproof products (8%) > introduction of strict legal system (7%) were each selected in order, showing that the introduction of new construction method was most preferred. Therefore, it was verified that approximately more than 70% of the residents were requesting the double layer structure provided in this study.
