다문화가정 유아가 인식한 행복의 의미 탐색

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 만 3세, 4세, 5세 다문화가정 유아가 인식한 행복의 의미를 파악하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 다문화가정 유아 만 3세 26명, 만4세 25명, 만5세 39명을 대상으로 한 행복그림그리기 및 면담을 통해 유아가 인식한 행복의 의미를 파악하였다. 그 결과 먼저 만 3세의 경우, 사회적 관계, 몰입, 물질, 몸과 마음의 편안함, 자연과의 교감을 통해 행복을 느끼는 것으로 나타났고, 만 4세는 사회적 관계, 몰입, 성취감, 특별한 경험, 자연과의 교감을 통해 행복을 느끼는 것으로 나타났으며 만 5세의 경우, 사회적 관계, 몰입, 자연과의 교감, 물질, 특별한 경험, 성취감, 몸과 마음의 편안함을 통해 행복을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 다문화가정 유아가 인식하는 행복은 연령별로 조금씩 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 다문화가정 유아들이 행복한 삶을 영위할 수 있도록 도모하는 교육정책 방안이나 교육활동 개발에 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate multicultural children’s perception of happiness. The participants were 26 three-year-old, 25 four-year-old, and 39 five-year-old children from multicultural families in Seoul. The children were asked to draw a picture about happy experiences, and individual semi-structured interviews were also conducted. The result of this study were as follows. First, the major sources of happiness for three-year-old children were social relationships, flow experience, materials, health and peaceful mind, and nature. Second, four-year-old children’s happiness stems from social relationships, flow experience, achievement, special experience, and nature. Finally, five-year-old children’s happiness was related to social relationships, flow experience, nature, materials, special experience, achievement, and health and peaceful mind. The findings are expected to provide useful information for developing early childhood education programs for young children from multicultural families.
