무한과 최소의 의미들- 루소와 『로빈슨 크루소』를 중심으로

Abstract

『로빈슨 크루소』가 독자에게 가능 세계를 사유하게 하듯이 루소가 고찰한 자연 상태는 인간의 상상력을 자극한다. 루소는 야만적인 자연 상태에 살고 있는 인간을 통해 자연 상태의 인간을 해방시킨다. 로빈슨의 신화가 경제적인 성공의 가치에서 생성되었고 상상력이라는 생명력을 갖는 것은 로빈슨의 내면적 감성과 정신이 변형되고 재창조되었기 때문이다. 본 논문은 신화의 대상이나 신화 자체가 아니라 가장 작은 신화의 형태와 인간의 근원적인 본성을 무한이란 수학적 용어와 연관시키면서 출발한다. 『로빈슨 크루소』의 신화소를 통해 최소의 주제를 원시사회와 자연의 개념 속으로 끌어들였고 18세기의 인류학적 관점을 통해 원시인의 주관적 정서를 찾음으로써 로빈슨을 초자연적인 질서 속으로 인도하고 그의 행동을 도덕과 문명의 지식으로 이해하지 않아야 한다고 주장한다. 자연 상태의 인간을 도덕적 타당성으로 거론하기보다는 원시 상태의 느낌과 반응으로 인간의 본질을 보자는 것이다. 루소가 사유하는 자연을 이해하기 위해서 기원을 이해하는 방식이 순수해야 한다. 결코 비약하지 않는 자연 속에 누군가 존재한다면 규칙적인 도형처럼 순수한 논리적 사고방식을 찾는 것도 의미가 있을 것이다. 자연사 속에 들어가 있는 로빈슨의 행동을 모든 기원으로부터 분리된 상태로 현존하게 한다면 우리는 그에 의해 만들어진 순수사건의 진실을 발견하게 될 것이다.

The state of nature studied by Rousseau stirs up men’s imagination. He reconciles theory and practice by criticizing the actual world. He thought that there is something in the hidden side of facts. Rousseau did not think that men are by nature evil. He praise that men who live in the uncivilized state of nature are more elegant than the ones who do in the progress of civilization. He regarded nature as an important element because men are just free in the state of nature. He studied men themselves to find the methods that they are free and happy. An event in a text exists in a unique situation. The event motivates you, divides the contents into each other, and leads to internal modification. When a main agent of cognition is complete, the truth of the event is complete. Something appears in the text and it requires identity about presence. Robinson’s myth includes moral values and the vital force of imagination because his internal sensibility and spirit was recreated. This study focuses on the minimum myth type and human nature, not being interested in myths’ subjects or themselves. Mythical sensibility is the essential characteristics of the primitive inner life. Primitivism shown by Robinson in Robinson Crusoe is a recreated pattern. There is no today’s natural concept in primitive cultures. And nature is not distinguished from supernature. The world that Robinson lives is different from the real world. The events in the internal structure of this text are needed to investigate these problems.
