미디어교육 패러다임의 변화를 위한 시론: “미디어정동(情動, affectus) 능력”의 개념화를 위한 문제제기

Abstract

이 연구의 목적은 스피노자의 윤리학에 기반을 둔 정동(情動, affectus)의 사유를 미디어능력연구에 접목함으로써 미디어교육 패러다임의 변화를 도모할 수 있는 이론적 근거들을 제시하는 데 있다. 연구자가 이러한 정동, 즉 정서적 변이능력에 대한 스피노자의 사유를 불러오는 이유는 두 가지 관점에 근거한다. 하나는 사회적으로 통용되는 일방향적 명령체계와 자명성의 오류에 대한 성찰을 위해 존재론적 패러다임이 필요한 시점이라는 점, 다른 하나는 기존의 이성 중심적 미디어교육 패러다임에 이러한 ‘정동능력’의 문제의식을 보완할 필요가 있다는 점이다. 특히 정서적 측면에서 미디어교육의 패러다임을 검토하고자 하는 실질적인 이유는, 세월호 참사 왜곡보도로 인해 ‘기레기’로 비판받았던 기자들과 저널리스트들의 보도윤리뿐 아니라 진위를 알 수 없는 소문과 괴담의 전파자로 혐의를 받고 있는 시청자 및 이용자들의 미디어 이용 윤리를 성찰적으로 검토할 시점이기 때문이다. 이를 위해 스피노자의 윤리학에 기반을 둔 정서의 변이와 이행, 그리고 능력에 대한 사유를 검토하고, 스피노자의 사상을 적극 수용하고 있는 들뢰즈, 네그리, 하트의 정동에 대한 논점들을 살펴본 후, 이를 기반으로 새로운 미디어환경과 이용자의 윤리에 필요한 ‘정동의 미디어능력’과 그 구성범주에 대한 기초적 수준의 구상과 논점들을 제기하고자 한다. 연구방법은 문헌연구를 바탕으로 했고, 이 연구의 의의는 향후 후속연구를 통해 미디어교육 패러다임 연구의 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 있다.

This study focus to suggest theoretical basis for advance the changing of media education paradigm through link study of media competence to concept of affectus grounded by ethica of Spinoza. There are two reasons why the researcher brings on affectus and sentimental change from idea of Spinoza. One reason is that need ontological paradigm for reflection about one-way order operation and error of indemonstrable truths which are used in social system. Other reason is that need to have a critical mind of affectus competence in rationalistic media paradigm. Particularly, the substantive reason is that examine the paradigm of media education from sentimental view, because of a time that need to study for morality of media users who are suspected of propagators of unreliable rumors, and morality of journalists who are criticized as ‘Giregi’ through distorted report about ‘Sewol ferry disaster’. In order to examine this circumstance, this study draws on the theory of change, transition and competence of sentimentalism by ethica of Spinoza, and then study on viewpoint of affectus from Deleuze, Negri and Hardt who accept the idea of Spinoza. This study suggest elementary viewpoints and conceptions about ‘media affectus competence and category’ that is necessary for morality of media users and new media environment. the method of study is based on literature research, and the meaning of study is that provide basic data research for media education paradigm for follow-up study.
