중국 전통 사개맞춤의 디자인 요소에 대한 연구 -노반쇄(魯班鎖)를 중심으로-

Abstract

중국의 유구한 문화는 많은 진귀한 물적 문화유산을 남겼다. 이러한 것들은 디자인의 영감을 주는 원류라고 볼 수 있다. 풍부한 중국 전통문화는 줄곧 디자이너들에게 보물과 같은 동방의 디자인 요소이다. 그리고 이러한 디자인요소를 현대의 제품디자인에 어떻게 응용하느냐는 현대 디자이너들에게 주는 가장 큰과제이다. 노반쇄는 오래된 지능개발 놀이기구이며,또한 중국의 전통 문화 요소 중 하나이다. 노반쇄에농축된 중국고대 수천년의 건축과 가구 사개맞춤의구조적 결정과 그가 갖고 있는 광범위한 대중적 기반은 각종 대중적 엔터테이먼트에 적합하다. 본문은 다양한 문헌연구를 통하여 노반쇄의 개념과역사를 알아보고 노반쇄의 조형, 구조와 재료 3방향의디자인요소를 고찰 하고 분석하였다. 노반쇄의 구조는사개맞춤의 구조와 『역경(譯經)1)』 중 음양원리에 깊이 부합된다. 사변법을 통해서 노반쇄와 『역경』 음양원리적 내재된 문화를 연개하여 분석을 진행하여, 이를 바탕으로 현대디자인에 미친 영향에 대하여 살펴보았다. 사례연구를 통하여 노반쇄의 디자인 요소를응용하여 만들어낸 현대 제품디자인 사례를 분석하였고, 더욱 발전된 현대 제품디자인 중 생활 속에 더욱더 흥미롭고 실용적인 디자인으로 변화 시킬지 정리하였다. 노반쇄 사개맞춤 구조의 디자인요소 전승의기초를 토대로 새로움을 개척하여, 중국 전통문화와예술의 전승과 지속에 도움이 되고 또한 풍부한 현대제품디자인의 방법과 이론에도 도움이 되도록 한다.

China， known for its long history，has accumulated a great number of material and cultural heritages. These heritages function as the source for design ideas. Chinese traditional culture, highly rich in content, has long been recognized by designers when it comes to oriental design elements, but the biggest problem that they have confronted is how these elements can be applied into modern product design in a better way. Six Piece Burr is an old educational toy and one of Chinese traditional cultural elements. It is taken as the crystallization of Chinese old architecture, boasting of a history of thousands of years, and of mortise and tenor joint structure in furniture; being widely accepted by vast users, the lock is also kind of entertainment for different populations. This dissertation, through a historical approach and bookwork research method, will provide an understanding of the idea and history about Six Piece Burr, make surveys on its design elements, and sum up its design traits in terms of mold, structure and material. Structurally, Six Piece Burr profoundly conforms to the Yin-yang Theory in the Book of Changes; the intrinsic cultural tie between the lock and the theory is analyzed via a speculative method, its application into modern product design is examined via survey method, and the ways of applying, in a better way, design elements extracted from the mortise and tenor joint structure found in the lock, which is ingeniously created and traditionally educational, into modern product design, so as to provide fun and serviceable design products. Innovations on such design elements, on the basis of carrying forward the heritage, will not only contribute to the spread and development of Chinese traditional culture and crafts, but also greatly enrich the methodologies and theories in modern product design.
