Abstract
This study aims to construction an action learning-based, edu-care teacher training program for health education and then apply it to edu-care teachers, and to then examine it’s effects. The objective is to cultivate teachers who possess the following qualities: health teaching efficacy, communication capability and active problem-solving ability-all based on a firm understanding of the importance of young children’s health in the rearing of healthy young children. The study established four locations Gyeonggi-do, The program was organized by 42 teachers in The program was organized by 42 teachers in workplace nursery school in Gyeonggi-do over a 12 week period from November 26, 2012 to February 13, 2013. The 42 teachers were divided into an experiment group (n = 21) and a control group (n = 21). To verify the study’s effectiveness, the study analyzed- using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) and independent sample t-verification-pre-post grade gaps in health education efficacy of infants’ teacher, problem solving skills, and communication skills. The study found that teachers in the experiment group had statistically high health teaching efficacy, problem solving skills, and communication skills more than the others in a control group. Following the 12 week period, a post-test was carried out and then data were statistically processed by carrying out covariance analysis. The training program was effective at developing expertise by cultivating such health education-related practical knowledge as health education efficacy, problem- solving ability and communication capability. These results suggest that the program coud be an effective strategy for edu-care teacher training program for health education in order to improve young children’s health.
