- Abstract
- Perceived value has been regarded as multiplicative function in which sacrifice and benefits work as ratio. On the other hand, some researchers suggest that the function is additive. This study provides an empirical evidence of service value function. Specifically, functions of utilitarian and hedonic value perception in the restaurant industry were examined by employing regression analysis. The results showed that hedonic value was multiplicative and utilitarian value was additive function. In addition, by testing interaction effect between hedonic and utilitarian value on revisit intention, this study provides an evidence of trade off between the two values. The authors discussed about theoretical and practical meaning of the results.
