Abstract
Using the movie as one of audiovisual media for the multicultural education doesn't simply mean that it can give a way to diversity of teaching-learning method. The application of some commercial movies to the education of understanding cultural relativity and improving multicultural sensitivity in university can open the door to creative and integrative multicultural education, overcoming the limitations of traditional education mainly based on written text. This paper intends to propose that the development and utilization of multicultural education programs in universities using some German and French commercial movies can contribute to the realization of harmonious Korean society which has been currently entering a multicultural society for the past decades, facing challenges caused by the influx of heterogeneous culture(s) together with the immigrant workers, immigrant spouses, North Korean defectors, overseas students etc. © 2014 International Information Institute.
