- Abstract
- This article presents a novel electromagnetic structure that is able to switch a reflector and absorber for multi-functional X-band environments. The periodic structure of a split-ring resonator is employed as an electric LC resonator The switching between absorption and reflector mode is achieved by connecting or disconnecting the main current path during on- and off-states, respectively. At 10 GHz, high absorption is obtained when the switch is in the on-state, while a perfect reflection is obtained when the switch is in the off-state. Simulation and measurement results demonstrate the performance of the proposed structure.
