- Abstract
- The wavelength shifting fiber (WSF) is employed to examine experimentally the characteristics on 100 MeV proton beams generated from the fixed-field alternating gradient (FFAG) accelerator at the Kyoto University Critical Assembly (KUCA). Profile and intensity of proton beams are deduced by the WSF detectors through the radiation induced by emissions at the location of target and the thermal neutron signals in the core, respectively, when the accelerator-driven system (ADS) experiments are carried out by combining with the KUCA core and the FFAG accelerator. From the experimental results, the applicability of WSF to the analyses of proton beam characteristics is significantly demonstrated in the ADS facility at KUCA through the measurements of protons and thermal neutrons.
