- Abstract
- This study was designed to examine the necessity of South Korean spelling education for North Korean defectors, and show how it can be organized.
To this end, the second chapter presented four steps in the necessity of South Korean spelling education for North Korean defectors. First, with a large number of North Korean defectors living in the South Korea, there is a need to solve their language adaptation problems. By the way, among their language adaptation problems, the problem of spelling was ignored.
Also, after showing the necessity to organize South Korean spelling education for North Korean defectors in this situation, mentioned the textbooks for self-study for North Koreans defectors are necessary.
Afterwards, the third chapter described detailed researches and practical tasks that should be conducted for South Korean spelling education for North Korean defectors. First, it was showed the need to carefully compare the spelling of North Korea with that of South Korea. And its contrast is shown as an example. It was also pointed out that it is necessary to consult the writings written by North Korean defectors. It was also showed how to collect, analyze and use the writings of North Korean defectors. Lastly, it was mentioned that the textbook for South Korean spelling should be developed for North Korean defectors. In addition, the textbook composition process was shown.
The study is expected to help North Korean defectors adapt to their language in the future. In addition, it is expected to provide useful data for mutual understanding of the languages of the two Koreas. In addition, these findings were expected as being able to be used to produce basic data on the creation of the South-North spelling translation program.
