차이와 소수성을 위한이주노동자 미디어교육에 대한 질적 연구 : MWTV 이주노동자 미디어교육 교수자 및 학습자와의질적 심층인터뷰를 중심으로

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 이주노동자의 차이의 접속을 통한 소수성의 긍정, 사회적 소통을 위한 실천적 차원의 미디어교육 방안을 모색하는 데에 있다. 이를 위해 들뢰즈와 가타리의 차이와 소수성 개념을 바탕으로 능동적 주체로서 이주노동자의 실천 가능성을 탐색하였다. 그리고 다문화 담론을 비판적으로 고찰한 후, 다문화의 시혜자로 머물러 있던 이주노동자들의 사회적 소통을 위한 방안으로 미디어교육을 논의했다. 이어서 이주노동자 미디어 공동체인 MWTV의 영상아카데미 수업 참여관찰과 학습자 및 교수자와의 질적 심층인터뷰를 실시, 분석결과를 제시했다. 분석결과, 이주노동자들은 한국의 다문화 사회에서 발생하는 차별을 극복하고 각자의 가치를 지향하기 위한 목적으로 미디어교육에 적극적으로 참여하였다. 이는 이주노동자들이 미디어교육을 통한 차이의 소수성을 구현해 나가는 과정으로 해석된다. 하지만 이 과정은 또 다른 현실의 문제로 인해 차이와 소수성이 긍정될 수 없는 한계를 갖는다. 본 연구는 이주노동자의 주체적 실천에 대한 관심을 환기하고 나아가 이주노동자 미디어교육의 가능성을 모색하는 데에 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

This study suggests that the practical media education for social communication and affirmation of minority through the access of difference of migrant workers. In order to examine the practical possibility of migrant worker, which draws on the theory of differences and minority by Deleuze and Guattari. And this study critically reviews the discourse of multi-culturalism, and proposes a media education plan for the social communication among migrant workers who have been considered to be only the object of policy of multi-culturalism. And I suggest the results through participatory observation in media education classes of MWTV(Migrant worker television). Then in-depth interviews were conducted with the migrant workers who participated as tutors and students in these media classes. The results shows that migrant workers actively engaged in the media classes in order to achieve their values and overcome discrimination in the multi- cultural society in Korea. This is to be interpreted as the process of embodying of difference and minority through the media education for migrant workers. But this process has some limitations, which has no positivity of difference and minority by real problems. This study has a significance in using for the preliminary data in order to seek the possibility of migrant worker media education and call attention to independent practice of migrant worker.
