Abstract
This study aims to find a realistic plan for the improvements of a variety of recognition of the fairness of gate ball referees’ decisions and training of the referees as the porliferation of gate ball games, social interests d-e manding changes in exercise culture and the efforts of the Korea Gate Ball Union of Sport For All are increasing. Research subjects were 72 Classes 1 and 2 referees who belonged to the Korea Gate Ball Union of Sport For All in 17 cities and provinces nationwide. To verify the dffierences in each question depending on the demographic characteristics of the research subjects, a t-tes t,a One-Way ANOVA and aχ 2(chi-square) test were carried out, and for significance test, the method of Scheffe test was used. The findings obtained through research are as follows:First, it turned out that the fairness of the gate ball referees’ decisions differed depending on the number of activities and their career as referees, and since the respondents recognized that the qualifications of the referees were the biggest barrier in their decisions, it turned outth at it was most important to enhance morality to increase the fairness. Second, it turned out that the gate ba lrleferees’ job satisfaction differed depending only on their qualifications, the number of activities and career while it turned out that their job satisfaction had significant impacts on the fairness of their decisions. Third, they responded that the appropriateness of the period of the training of gate ball referees was ‘average,’ but theye crognized that developing fair referees would be possible through the training of the referees and had a concern that the referees’ fair decisions might be difficult if newly appointed referees entered immediately after the training.
