거북선 패턴을 적용한 패션 문화 상품에 관한 연구 - 에코백을 중심으로 -

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 한국을 대표할 수 있는 한국 상징이미지를 발굴하고, 이를 활용하여 세계적으로 공유될 수 있는 패션문화상품 아이템 개발의 타당성 제안과 발전 가능성의 방향을 제안하는데 있다. 본 연구의 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국을 대표할 수 있는 상징물로서 거북선의 역사적 유래와 그 상징성을 이해하고, 패션 문화상품 아이템으로 에코백의 활용 가치를 모색하였다. 둘째, 거북선을 상징적 이미지로 활용하고 있는 지역 문화축제와 거북선을 모티브로 한 패션 문화상품의 사례를 살펴보고 그에 따른 활용 방안을 살펴하였다. 셋째, 거북선을 모티브로 활용한 패턴을 디자인하고, 이를 적용한 패션 문화상품으로서 에코백 디자인 8작품을 제안하였다. 이는 한국을 대표하는 이미지로서 거북선의 새로운 가치를 알리는 기회가 될 것이다. 거북선을 활용한 패션 문화상품의 적용 확대를 위한 에코백 디자인 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 거북선은 한국의 이미지를 나타내는 국가 상징물로써 그 가능성과 가치를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 패션 문화상품의 현대적 아이템 부족과 우리나라를 대표하는 상징물의 개발이 저조한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 에코백은 패션 문화상품의 현대적 아이템으로 거북선을 이용한 다양한 디자인을 제시하기에 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 세계화라는 사회적, 문화적 시류를 반영한 거북선을 활용한 한국 상징이미지 개발과 이에 관한 활용 방안의 제안으로서 에코백이라는 패션문화상품 아이템 제안은 패션의 미적 현상을 이해하는 새로운 기회의 모색이 될 것이다.

This study aims to discover Korea’s symbolic image which can represent Korea and suggest validity for development of fashion cultural product item which can be globally shared, and propose the direction of potential for development. Contents of this study are as follows. First, this study intended to understand historical origin and its symbolism of the Turtle Ship as a symbolic icon which can represent Korea and devised the value of applicability of eco bag as an item for fashion cultural products. Second, this study investigate examples of regional culture festivals using the Turtle Ship as their symbolic image and fashion cultural products based on the Turtle Ship motif, and considered a measure to utilize it. Third, this study designed a pattern using the Turtle Ship motif and suggested eight eco bag designs as fashion cultural products by applying the pattern. Results of eco bag design research using the Turtle Ship for expanding fashion cultural products are as follows. First, the Turtle Ship, as a national symbolic icon displaying the image of Korea, turned out to have possibility and value. Second, the results of this study revealed that fashion cultural products lack in modernistic items and development of symbolic icon representing Korea is remained sluggish. Third, as a modern item for fashion cultural products, eco bag is considered proper for suggesting a variety of designs using the Turtle Ship. Suggestion of eco bag as an item for fashion cultural product for suggesting development of Korean national image reflecting social and cultural trends of globalization and utilization of it would be the way to find a new opportunity to understand aesthetic phenomena of fashion and is expected to be used as preliminary data for researches on fashion cultural product which can represent Korea.
