Abstract
This study investigates the relationships among children’s drawing representational ability, attention-deficit and multiple intelligence. Subjects are 213, four and five year-old children in seven preschools and kindergartens. Instruments used in collecting data were ‘The Drawing Representation Inventory’, a ‘Korean version of ADHD Rating Scales (K-ARS)’ and the ‘Multiple Intelligence Developmental Assessment Scale (MIDAS) for Young Korean Children’ and Pearson’s correlation and Stepwise Multi-Regression Analysis were used to analyze the data. The results of this study are as follows: First, there were negative correlations between children’s drawing representational ability and their attention-deficit problem and impulsivity. Second, there were positive correlations between children’s drawing representational ability and linguistic intelligence, logical mathematical intelligence, bodily kinesthetic intelligence and spatial intelligence. Third, spatial intelligence and impulsivity were found to be the predictable variables affecting the children’s drawing representation ability.
