- Abstract
- In this letter, we propose a throughput-efficient type-II hybrid automatic reQuest (HARQ) scheme considering quality of service (QoS) to transmitted packets. The proposed algorithm determines the amount of redundancy bits for the (re)transmissions of a HARQ packet while satisfying the given packet outage probability. The throughput performance of the suggested type-II HARQ scheme with low density parity check (LDPC) code is evaluated under both the changing channel conditions and the maximum number of retransmission determined by the allowed packet delay. Result shows that the proposed algorithm achieves higher throughput than the typical type-II HARQ scheme. (C) 2009 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.
