- Abstract
- High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used for the analysis of sesamin, the main antioxidant compound of sesame (Sesamum indicum L.), in sesame dregs. Reverse-phase system using a binary isocratic of methanol and deionized water (70:30) and UV detection at 290 nm were performed. The contents of sesamin in the sesame dregs from Korea and China were 1.45 and 1.60 mg . g(-1), respectively. The assay was successfully applied to quantify sesamin in the sesame dregs and to present the recycling possibilities of inefficiently used resources as agricultural by-products.
