유아 원예교육 실태와 교사의 인식 분석

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 유아 원예교육에 대한 실태와 교사의 인식을 조사 분석하는데 있다. 유아 원예교육에 대한 교사의 인식을 파악하기 위해 문헌분석, 전문가 집단, 교사 및 교육전문가와의 협의를 통해 설문지를 개발하고 연구자료를 수집하였다. 설문지의 ‘원예교육에 대한 교육현장 실태’ 영역은 ‘실시 정도’, ‘교육장소 및 자료’, ‘교육방법’ 3개의 범주로 구성하였고, ‘원예교육과 관련된 교사의 인식’ 영역은 ‘원예교육 필요성과 교육효과에 대한 인식’, ‘교육방법에 대한 인식’, ‘누리과정 연계에 대한 인식’, ‘원예교육의 문제점’, ‘교사의 요구 및 만족도’ 5개 범주로 구분하여 총 22문항으로 구성하였다. 연구대상은 유치원과 어린이집에 근무하고 있는 유아교사 172명이었으며, 수집된 자료는 , t-검증, One-Way ANOVA를 통해 분석하였고 집단 간의 차이는 Scheffé 검증을 통해 추후분석 하였다. 분석결과, 유아 원예교육에 대한 교사의 인식은 교사의 배경변인에 따라 부분적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the status and teachers’ awareness of horticulture education for young children. To investigate the status and teachers’ awareness, a questionnaire was developed based on prior literature, research, and discussions with early childhood professionals and early childhood teachers. The questionnaire is composed of 22 questions related to the status and teacher's awareness of horticulture education for young children. To investigate 'the status of horticulture education in the early childhood field’, the questionnaire consisted of 3 categories: 'frequency of implementation', 'placeㆍmaterial', and 'teaching strategy'. To investigate 'the teacher's awareness of horticulture education for young children, the questionnaire consisted of 5 categories: 'the awareness of teaching strategies', 'the awareness of linkage with the Nuri curriculum', 'the problem of horticultural education', and 'teacher's demands and satisfaction'. The subjects in this study were 172 early childhood teachers. Data analysis was conducted by -test, t-test, One-Way ANOVA and Scheffé. The results of this study indicated that there were partially significant differences among the groups in the status and teachers’ awareness of horticulture education for young children. Lastly, ways to promote the efficiency in delivery of horticulture education for young children were discussed.
