공공언어 문장 오류 유형 분석 연구

Abstract

이 연구의 목적은 중앙행정 기관의 보도 자료에 나타난 오류를 조사·분석하여, 공공언어 개선 방안을 마련하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 2017년 중앙행정기관 공공언어 진단 의 보도 자료 정확성 분석 결과를 연구대상으로 삼았다. 공공언어 개선을 위해서는 이미 작성된 공문서를 평가하는 일보다는 공무원들이 글을 바르게 쓰도록 하는 일이 더 효율적이다. 공무원들이 문서를 작성할 때 맞춤법이나 문장 오류를 교정해주는 프로그램을 마련한다면 한국어 사용 오류를 훨씬 많이 줄일 수 있을 것이다. 오류 교정 프로그램 개발을 위해서는 우선 오류 분석이 필요하다. 공공언어에서 많이 발견되는 문법적 오류를 데이터베이스화한다면 그 자료를 바탕으로 질 높은 텍스트 생산이 가능해지리라고 본다. 이 연구에서는 ‘공공언어 진단 평가 항목’ 중 ‘어법에 맞지 않는 표현’과 ‘우리말답지 않은 표현’을 중심으로 분석하였다. 보도 자료에서는 문장성분의 생략이나 호응 오류, 접속 오류, 조사 사용 오류 등과 우리말답지 않은 번역 투 표현이 많았다. 공무원들이 보도 자료를 작성하면서 가장 많은 오류를 범하는 유형을 목록화한다면 교정 시스템 구현에 도움이 될 뿐만 아니라 더 나아가 공공언어 개선에 큰 효과가 있을 것이다.

This study aims to provide measures to improve public language by analyzing the grammatical errors of press releases from central administrative agencies. To this end, this study was based on the analysis of the accuracy of press releases done by the "The 2017 Public Language Diagnosis of Central Administrative Agencies." The analysis of this study is based on two categories used in the public language diagnosis: 'grammatically incorrect expressions' and 'non-Korean expressions.' In the 'grammatically incorrect expressions' category, the errors were classified as the following: 'incorrect particle,' 'omission of sentence component,' 'error in the sequence of sentence constituents,' 'unnecessary sentence component,' 'incorrect conjunction,' 'duplicative expression,' 'modifier and modificand sequence error,' 'incorrect tense.' In the 'non-Korean expressions' category, the errors were classified as the following: ‘translation-like expressions,' ’excessive nominalization,' 'unnecessary Sino-Korean words.' From the analysis of the errors in press releases, it is evident that the public language diagnosis is unable to make a significant difference in improving the level of public language. Thus it is concluded that an educational program elevating the command of Korean of public officials must also be implemented along with the public language diagnosis.
