중첩 젠탱글 아트 저작 도구 개발에 대한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 연필, 펜 등과 같은 간단한 필기구를 사 용하여 패턴을 그리는 젠탱글(Zentangle) 아트를 뉴미 디어 기술과 결합 하여 작품을 저작하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 먼저 젠탱글의 개념과 전통적인 구현방식을 살펴보 고 뉴미디어 기술을 활용한 디지털 방식으로 젠탱글 아트를 구현하는 방식을 제시한다. 이를 통하여 전통 방식의 젠탱글과 디지털 젠탱글의 차이점을 분석해 보았다. 본 연구에서는 젠탱글 저작과정에서의 예술성과 종 교, 심리적인 효과를 유지하기 위해 최대한 전통적인 저작 방식을 따르고자 위해 노력하였다. 디지털이 갖 는 인공적, 표현적 한계 등을 극복하기 위해 이미지가 한번에 완성되는 것이 아니라, 패턴이 연쇄적으로 그 려지는 과정을 보여줌으로써 손으로 직접 젠탱글 아 트를 구현하는 것과 같은 효과를 극대화 시켰다. 마지막으로 4명의 전문가를 활용하여 젠탱글 아트 를 구현해 보았고 그 특유의 집중력을 관찰할 수 있 었다. 추후 연구를 통해 젠탱글 아트 저작 시 생기는 특유의 집중력을 정량적으로 관찰해보고 그에 수반되 는 심리적 효과를 연구해 볼 예정이다.

The purpose of this study is to combine Zentangle art, which draws patterns using simple writing instruments such as pencils and pens, with new media technology. First, we look at the concept of Zentangle and its traditional implementation method, and suggest a way to implement Zentangle art digitally using new media technology. Through this, we analyzed the difference between traditional Zentangles and digital Zentangles. In this study, we tried to follow the traditional method of production as much as possible for artistic, religious, and psychological effects in the Zentangle production process. In order to overcome the artificial and expressive limitations of digital, the image is not completed at once but shows the process of drawing the pattern in a chain, maximizing the effect of implementing Zentangle art by hand. Finally, four experts were able to realize Zen Tangle art and observe that specific concentration. Through further research, we will examine quantitatively the specific concentration of Zentang art work and study the psychological effects accompanying it.
