Abstract
Low-lying states of Te-118,Te-120,Te-122 isotopes were studied through the Sn-nat(alpha,2n gamma) fusion-evaporation reaction. The experiment was performed at a new beam Line recently attached to the MC-50 cyclotron of the Korea Cancer Center Hospital. The 22-MeV alpha-beam was transported to the beam line and bombarded on a natural tin target. This was the first fusion-evaporation reaction ever made in Korea with such a beam energy as to overcome the Coulomb barrier for this medium-mass nucleus. To understand the interplay between the collective and the single-particle structures in transitional tellurium nuclei, we focused on examining the low-lying states that were populated and had an angular momentum of up to 8h. Results obtained by interacting boson approximation and total routhian surface calculations are also presented.
