Abstract
본 연구의 목적은 학교 밖 청소년의 진로 특성을 진로성숙, 진로장벽, 진로활동을 중심으로 알아보고 진로성숙의 예측요인이 무엇인지 검증하는데 있다. 이를 위해 학교 밖 청소년 250명을 대상으로 설문조사하였고, 얻어진 자료는 SPSS 22.0을 사용해 기술통계분석, 분산분석, 중다회귀분석 등을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 진로성숙의 경우 상대적으로 독립성이 높고 진로행동이 낮아, 학교 밖 청소년이 진로를 스스로 결정하고 준비하려는 성향이 있지만 이것이 직접적인 행동으로 이어지기에는 부족한 상황인 것으로 보였다. 진로장벽 중에서는 재정적 제약을 상대적으로 높게 인식하여 원하는 진로를 준비하는데 비용적 부담을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 상담이나 검사 등의 소극적 진로활동에 많이 참여했는데 이로부터 얻는 도움은 적었고, 체험형 진로활동에 참여한 경험은 적은데 비해 도움이 많이 된다고 응답하였다. 진로성숙에는 도구적 장벽과 성차별의 부적 영향력이 나타나, 필요한 정보 및 도움의 부족과 성별로 인한 한계를 완화하는 것이 진로성숙에 긍정적임을 알 수 있었다. 더불어 진로활동을 통해 도움을 받을수록 진로성숙이 높아졌으며, 전반적인 진로성숙에는 무엇보다 진로활동에 긍정적인 태도와 인식을 가지는 것이 효과적임이 확인되었다. 본 연구는 이러한 결과에 기초하여 연구함의를 제시하였다.
The purpose of this study was not only to reveal career traits of out-of-youth with career barriers, career activities and career maturity but to examine predictors of career maturity. For this purpose, 250 out-of-school youth were surveyed by a written questionnaire and gathered data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis in SPSS 22.0 program. Demonstrated in the findings that out-of-school youths were high in independence but low in career-act, they would like to prepare and decide on their career by themselves but were not in the situation of taking action. Results also indicated that they had financial barriers since they feel more cost burden to achieve their career goals. In addition, youths responded that even though they have less opportunities to participate in vocational field trips and experience real work places, these activities are more helpful than to receive counseling or to take career aptitude tests. Considering instrumental barriers and sex discrimination appeared to be negative factors of career maturity, it is helpful to lessen those barriers to increase career maturity. The more help from career activities was associated with increased career maturity, and mostly for youths' career maturity, it is very important for out-of-school youth to have positive views on various career related activities. Based on the results, practical implications and recommendations for future research were discussed.
