노년기 삶의 만족도와 소득 궤적에 관한 종단연구

Abstract

본 연구는 노년기 삶의 만족도 초기값이 소득 변화율에 미치는 영향, 그리고 소득의 초기값이 삶의 만족도 변화율에 미치는 영향을 종단적으로 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 또한 소득과 삶의 만족도 궤적에 대한 건강상태와 생산적 활동 요인의 영향력을 파악하는 부가적인 목적도 가지고 있다. 이를 위해, 국민노후보장패널데이터 1~3차 자료의 55세 이상 노인을 대상으로 잠재성장모형 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 삶의 만족도와 소득의 초기값은 정적인 상관관계를 보이나, 두 변수의 초기값와 변화율의 종단적 관계는 상호 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 삶의 만족도 초기값이 높을수록 소득의 변화율이 천천히 증가하며, 소득의 초기값이 높을수록 삶의 만족도 변화율이 천천히 증가하는 것이다. 또한 주관적 건강상태와 심리적 건강상태 모두 소득과 삶의 만족도 초기값과 변화율에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 생산적 활동의 중요성도 일부 확인되었다. 따라서 노년기 소득과 삶의 만족도의 관계는, 기본적인 욕구를 충족시키는 범위 안에서, 상호 주요한 기능을 발휘 하는 것으로 요약할 수 있다. 성공적이고 적극적인 노년을 위해 주관적, 심리적 건강상태와 생산적 활동이 중요하며, 이를 토대로 정책적, 실천적 함의를 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to examine longitudinally the effect of life satisfaction on the slope of income and the effect of income on the slope of life satisfaction. It also reveals how life satisfaction and income trajectory has been influenced by the factors of health condition and productive activities. The subjects for the study were drawn from the aged older than 55 years old from Korean Retirement and Income Study Data. We find that the life satisfaction and income is positively correlated, however, life satisfaction has negative impact on the slope of income while income also has negative impact on the slope of life satisfaction. The health condition did explain life satisfaction and income trajectory, and the productive activities also show some significant importance. These findings suggest that life satisfaction and income play important roles each other and it is necessary to develop programs for improving the physical and psychological health and to provide appropriate jobs and wage for the elderly.
