한국전쟁기 여성시에 나타난 사랑과 죄의식의 감정 구조

Abstract

이 논문의 목적은 한국전쟁기 여성시 전체를 대상으로 사랑과 죄의식의 감정 구조를 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 통해 사랑과 죄의식의 감정 구조가 전쟁기 여성시에 집중적으로 나타나는 현상이 무엇을 의미하는지 밝혀 보았다. 이 논문에서는 한국전쟁기라는 특수한 사회적 조건 속에서 요구되었던 감정으로 인해 진짜 감정을 억압하고 가짜 감정을 내면화하는 것을 살펴보았다. 한국전쟁기 여성시에서는 희생적 사랑의 요구라는 억압 속에서 자기혐오의 감정이 종종 노출되었으며, 고독한 주체의 발견을 통해 희생적 사랑의 요구를 극복하려는 태도가 나타났다. 전쟁기 여성시에 자주 출몰하는 수치심과 죄의식의 감정을 이해하는 데에도 이러한 관점은 효과적이었다. 전쟁기 시에 나타난 사랑의 감정은 이 논문에서 살펴본 것처럼 사실상 사회적으로 요구되는 목표이기도 했는데, 이에 도달하기 어려운 현실적 실패의 상황이 결과적으로 살아남은 자의 수치심과 죄의식을 낳았음을 분석해 보았다. 유독 여성시에서 이러한 감정이 자주 출현하는 까닭은 일방적인 기다림과 희생, 모성으로 포장된 절대적 사랑의 감정이 당대의 여성을 향해 한층 더 가혹하게 요구된 것이었기 때문이었다. 여기에 기독교적 상상력이 더해짐으로써 수치심과 죄의식에 원죄의식이 더해져 전쟁기 시의 중요한 감정으로 나타났음을 주목할 필요가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the structure of feelings regarding love and guilt in the entire women’s poetry during the Korean War to figure out the meanings of the phenomena that involved the concentration of the structures in women’s poetry during a war. In this paper, we looked at suppressing real feelings and internalizing fake ones because of the emotions required under the particular social conditions of the Korean War. Self-hatred was often exposed under the oppression of the demand for sacrificial love during the Korean War, and the discovery of a solitary subject showed an attitude to overcome the demand for sacrificial love. This perspective was effective for understanding the emotions of shame and guilt that made frequent appearances in women’s poetry during a war. As the study demonstrated, the feelings of love and maternity in wartime poems were some of the goals demanded by the society. The situations of their failure in reality led to the shame and guilt of the survivors. These feelings appeared in women’s poetry more often because the feelings of absolute love wrapped with one-sided waiting, sacrifice and maternity were forced upon the women of the times more harshly. It is noteworthy that Christian imagination was added to their shame and guilt and further to their consciousness of original sin, contributing to their emergence as important feelings during a war.
