장애유아 학습공동체에 관한 문화기술 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 장애유아들의 학급에서 이루지는 학습공동체 형성과정을 이해하고자 유아특수교육현장인 조기 교육실 학습의 다양한 문화적 양태들을 있는 그대로의 문화현상으로 밀착 관찰하고 그 의미를 포착한 연구이다. 수업에서의 교사와 유아들 간의 상호작용을 3개월 동안 관찰하였으며, 교사면담, 연구자 일지 등의 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과에서는 장애유아들의 학급은 침묵의 세계에서 따로 놀이를 하며, 끊이지 않는 갈등과 긴장이 있는 낯설고 모호한 공간인 듯하였으나, 실제로는 교사의 보살핌과 유아들에 대한 배려로 더불어 함께하는 공감과 배려의 공간이었고, 규칙적인 일과 제시와 신체활동을 위주로 한 교사의 활동을 통해 즐겁게 자발적으로 학습에 참여하는 학습공동체이었다. 이 연구는 장애유아학급의 학습공동체에 관한 교실 문화의 모습들을 다양하게 부각시키고 그 의미를 찾아보려 하였다는 점에서 의미 있으며, 이후 통합을 위해 일반교육에서 준비되어야 할 부분에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다.

This research is to closely observe diverse cultural aspects in the early education for disabled children and their significance to understand their learning community formation in a classroom. Research methods were participant observation, teacher interviews, researcher’s journals. Disabled children’s classroom seems to look a strange and vague place, full of estranged children, and constant conflict and tension. But the results of research shows that the classroom is a place with sympathy and attention, where teachers care for and pay attention to children. It is also a learning community that encourages children to voluntarily participate in learning by providing regular tasks and physical activities. This research is significant in that it tries to emphasize the various aspects of classroom culture of learning community for disabled children and find its meaning. Then, Discussion focus on the implication of integrated education for disabled children and normal children.
