PSS 디자인 프로세스를 활용한 서비스 디자인 개발 연구 -하이브리드 카메라 시장을 중심으로-

Abstract

서비스 산업이 각광을 받고 있는 오늘날 세계경제의 흐름에 따라 각계각층에서 디자인의 역할에 대한고찰이 시도되고 있다. 학계와 업계 모두 제조 산업기반의 산업디자인 프로세스를 재조명함과 동시에 사용자 경험 위주의 서비스 디자인 연구에 박차를 가하고있다. 전통적 제조기반의 글로벌 기업들 역시 그간 가동해 왔던 생산라인을 폐쇄하고 서비스 상품개발에 열을 올리는 모습을 쉽게 관찰할 수 있다. 최근 모토로라와 구글의 M&A 합병 사례는 더 이상 제조품만으로 세계시장의 선두를 이끌어 나갈 수 없음을 단적으로 보여주는 예라 할 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 시대적 변화에 따라 산업디자인 분야에서는 서비스 상품 영역으로 그 범위를 확장하여 제품-서비스 디자인 방법론(Product-Service Design Process)을 구축하고 있다. PSS(Product-Service System)란 제조 산업을 중심으로 서비스를 개발하는 시스템의 하나로서, 1999년 Goedkoop에 의해 처음으로 도입되어 현재까지 국내외학계와 업계에서 다양한 연구가 진행되어왔다. 본 연구는 세계경제가 점차 서비스산업으로 전환 되고 있는 현 시점에서 제조업 중심의 산업디자인 프로세스가 서비스를 기반으로 새로운 가치를 창출 할 수 있는 방향을 모색하고자 하는 취지로부터 시작되었다. 이를 위해 현재까지 연구되어져 온 기존의 PSS(Product-Service System)를 통해 서비스를 개발하는 시스템을 디자인개발 프로세스의 관점으로 재정립하여 PSS를 적용한디자인 프로세스를 도출하고자 국내외 D/B를 통한자료조사와 관련서적, 연구논문 등을 통한 문헌조사를바탕으로 PSS와 서비스디자인의 이론적 고찰 및 개념을 이해하고 필수요소를 정의하였다. 진행된 학제적PSS 디자인 프로세스 연구는 이후 실제적 서비스 개발을 목표로 하이브리드 카메라 시장에서의 비즈니스포인트 도출 및 이를 서비스화 하는 과정과, 개발된 서비스를 롤-플레잉 과정을 통해 Prototyping하여 검증 후 Service Blueprint를 도출하는 단계로 진행하였으며, 궁극적으로 Photo Clinic이라는 서비스로 거듭날 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 실질적인 서비스 디자인의 프로세스를 이해하고 나아가 심도 있는 연구를 통해 미흡한 연구가 보완되어 완성된 서비스 디자인 프로세스로 거듭나게 된다면 혁신적인 비즈니스 모델로 산업 각계에서 각광받을 것이라 기대한다.

Today, the service industry is in the limelight,and the consideration about the role of design is attempted in all levels of society following the flow of the global economy. Both the academic world and the business circles are reinterpreting the industrial design process based on manufacture industry and at the same time are giving an impetus to the service design research centering on user experience. The global companies based on traditional manufacture are also easily observed to close the production lines that have been operated and to become enthusiastic over the service product development. The recent case of the M&A of Motorola and Google can be called as a flat example that shows that one cannot lead the global market with only manufactures any more. Following this change of the times, the industrial design field is establishing the Product-Service Design Process by extending its range to the service product area. PSS(Product-Service System) is one of the systems that develop services centering on the manufacturing industry and was first introduced by Goedkoop in 1999, and so far various studies have been conducted in the academic world and the business circles. This study began with the purpose to find the direction that manufacturing-oriented industrial design process can create new value based on service at the present time that the world economy will change to the service industry. To achieve this, this study redefined the system to develop the service in terms of the design development process through existing PSS(Product-Service System) that is studied so far and understand PSS and theoretical considerations and the concept of service design and defined the essential elements on the basis of the investigation through home and abroad D / B and the literature search through related materials books, research papers, and research literature to draw the design process applied PSS. The conducted interdisciplinary PSS design process study proceeded to step to produce a Service Blueprint after verification by Prototyping with the aim of developing practical service since this study through deriving the business point in hybrid camera market and the process of creating it as a service and process to role-playing developed service, and ultimately became the service called Photo Clinic. If the process of the substantial service design is understood through this study,and if further the insufficient researches are supplemented through in-depth studies and it will be born again as a completed service design process,it is expected that it will be in the limelight in every field of industry as an innovative business model.
