- Abstract
- This study aimed to investigate how unmarried men and women’s adult attachment influences their marriage value. The results are as follows: First, participants’ adult attachment were lower than average level. Their avoidance attachment was higher than their anxiety attachment. The participants’ marriage value was the highest for the stable-romantic value. Second, according to regression analysis for adult attachment to marriage value, the planned number of child, anxiety and avoidance attachment showed significant effect for stable-romantic marriage value. For conservative-instrumental marriage value, sex, job, the planned number of child, anxiety and avoidance attachment showed significant effect. For passive-exclusive marriage value, sex, the planned number of child and anxiety attachment showed significant effect. Therefore, the result of this study can be distinguishably used as a basic data for establishing a counseling program and making policies to react on problems such as low marriage rate and birth rate.
