Abstract
The purpose of this study is to select educational items of the Korean standard pronunciation regulation(the KSP regulation) to be dealt with in the college general education lectures covering Korean orthography, and to illustrate teaching methods of some items. This study investigates the problems of the existing education about the KSP regulation and describes the principle and practice of the new education about the KSP regulation to improve it. In order to point out the problems of the existing education about the KSP regulation, the related textbooks were reviewed. Based on these reviews, two principles are derived. One is that the method of teaching and learning should be out of line. The other is that the teaching should be centered on the principle behind the phenomenon. In this regard, Chapter 3 extracted 14 major items to be covered in the KSP regulation. In addition, I showed an example of how to actually teach two phenomena. One method of teaching and learning can not be absolutely the most plausible or effective. The proposed method can be further improved by applying it to actual classes.
