- Abstract
- The aim of this research is to investigate the relationship between the motive of majors in sports for the major selection and it's effect on academic achievement. Total 215 students of a college of physical education in Gyeonggi-do were used for a population and the survey data was analyzed using the convenience sampling method. The result of the analysis through SPSS 23.0 is as follows.
First, both intrinsic and extrinsic factors, which are sub-factors of the major selection motivation of t he majors of physical education, affect the learning performance (cognitive domain). Second, both i ntrinsic and extrinsic factors, which are sub-factors of the major selection motivation of the majors of physical education, affect the learning performance (affective domain). Third, only intrinsic factor s, which is sub-factor of majors selection motivation of the majors of physical education affect learn ing performance (interpersonal relationships). Fourth, it was found that both intrinsic and extrinsic elements which are subfactors of motivations for choosing the major for the sports-majored, have an impact on trained achievements(external activities).
