- Abstract
- The purpose of this paper is to analyze the issues of 2007 revised national physical education curriculum and to suggest the feasible directions for revising it on the basis of 2009 revised national curriculum. Data were collected throughout document analysis, focus group interviews, survey, and in-depth individual interviews. Data from multiple collection methods are analyzed using quantitative and qualitative analysis. First, three representative issues of 2007 revised national P.E. curriculum are indicated such as controlling the quantity of P.E. contents, the change from one grade-based content to two grades-based content, and the breadth of possible examples for physical activity. Secondly, a couple of practical directions for each issue identified in the paper are suggested in the last section. Thus, the issues analyzed and directions suggested in this paper would need to be seriously considered and systematically discoursed by a national curriculum revision research team in the future.
