- Abstract
- The high strength steel(SM570TMC) may have the mechanical properties that are significantly different from that of the conventional steel. Thus, use of new high strength steels according to the current design specification may not be justified. Furthermore, it's inelastic behaviour should be investigated. This research was achieved to evaluate of local buckling and lateral-torsional buckling behaviour of the flexural members using high-strength steels SM570TMC. In order to investigate the strength and deformation characteristics of H beams, a total of 10 beams which 7 specimens were to understand the behaviour of the local buckling and 3 specimens were the lateral-torsional buckling, were tested under monotonic loading condition. The suitability of existing design formulae(AIK-LSD), the effects of local and lateral- torsional buckling on beams were investigated through the observation of the behaviors of these beams with various types. The ductility and the dissipated energy according to slenderness ratios of the beam and width-thickness ratios of the flange were also investigated and studied through the observation of the test results.
