발명 ․ 특허 재능학생들의 그릿: 지적 능력에 대한 신념 및 낙관적 자기대화와의 관계

Abstract

본 연구는 발명 · 특허 특성화 고등학교 학생들을 대상으로 그릿의 하위요인 구조(흥미의 일관성, 노력의 지속성)와 그릿, 지적 능력에 대한 신념(향상가능성 신념, 항상성 신념) 및 낙관적 자기대화 간의 관계를 살펴보고자 하였다. 서울 소재 발명 · 특허 특성화 고등학교 학생 총 340명을 표집 대상으로 하였으며, 이 중 불성실하게 응답한 32명을 제외한 308명을 최종 분석대상으로 선정하였다. 본 연구결과, 그릿의 하위요인 구조는 2요인으로 나타났으나, 두 요인 간 상관계수는 유의하지 않았다. 지적 능력에 대한 향상가능성 신념과 낙관적 자기대화는 노력의 지속성에 긍정적인 영향을 주며, 낙관적 자기대화가 지적 능력에 대한 향상가능성 신념과 노력의 지속성간의 관계를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 지적 능력에 대한 향상가능성 신념과 항상성 신념 모두 흥미의 일관성에는 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 발명 교육을 담당하는 학교 교사들에게 발명 · 특허 재능 학생들의 그릿 증진 방안을 모색하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

This study was to explore the sub-factor structure of grit and to examine the relations of grit,beliefs about intelligence(i.e., incremental, and entity), and optimistic self-talk. Of the 340 talented students specialized in invention and patent education in Seoul, Korea, 308 completed and returned the questionnaires. The results showed that the two-correlated factor structure model indicated good fit, whereas the correlation of two factors was not statistically significant. Students’ incremental belief about intelligence had direct effects on optimistic self-talk and perseverance of effort, and the effect of their incremental belief about intelligence on perseverance of effort was partially mediated by optimistic self-talk. However students’ beliefs about intelligence(i.e., incremental, and entity) had negatively effects on consistency of interest. The results of this study are expected to help teachers who take charge of invention and patent education to search for ways to promote grit of talented students specialized in invention and patent education.
