- Abstract
- The objective of this research is to develop and present a web-based user interactive scheduler for SMT operation in an electronics assembly line to implement manufacturing information systems for electronic products. For the use of the scheduler, a scheduling algorithm is developed that satisfies the demand quantity and due date of the main line and maintains the WIP(work-in-progress) inventory amount in the desired range. This paper also provides a self-adjusting rescheduling algorithm to enable changing of the pre-planned schedule in case of unexpected events causing such as facility breakdown. The developed scheduler operates in web environment, and presents the generated schedules graphically in Gantt Chart forms, providing user friendliness. Finally, the effectiveness of the developed scheduler is shown by applying to the real-world data.
