혐오와 급성음주가 도덕판단에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구는 혐오와 급성음주가 도덕판단에 미치는 영향을 확인하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 검증하기 위해 건강한 사회적 음주자 남자 대학생 및 대학원생 60명을 선발하였다. 이들을 각각 알코올(유 / 무) × 영상 처치(혐오 / 중립)에 따라 각각 15명씩 4집단으로 무선배정하여 도덕판단 과제를 실시하였다. 각 집단에서의 실험은 1회 90분이었고, 알코올이 체내에 확산되는 속도와 정도를 통제하기 위해 음주와 식사, 약물섭취를 사전에 제한하였다. 연구결과 혐오영상 처치를 받은 집단은 엄격한 도덕판단을 내렸고, 음주처치를 받은 집단은 엄격하지 못한 도덕판단을 내렸다. 또한 혐오영상과 음주의 상호작용효과가 발견되어 혐오영상을 보았더라도 음주처치를 받은 집단의 도덕판단이 엄격하지 못한 것으로 나타났다. 이는 음주가 도덕판단을 엄격하게 만드는 혐오감의 효과를 억제시켰다고 해석할 수 있다. 본 연구결과는 급성음주 상태에서 나타나는 엄격하지 못한 도덕판단의 원인에 대한 시사점을 제공한다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 제한점 및 추후 연구에 대한 방향을 제시하였다.

This study aims to elucidate the effect of disgust and acute alcohol consumption on moral judgment. To do so, amongst healthy social drinkers without history of drinking related problems, 60 under- and postgraduate male students were selected. They were randomly and evenly assigned into 4 groups which are distinguished by absence or presence of alcohol and the disgusting or neutral nature of the visual treatment to perform moral judgment tasks. Experiments in each group were performed once in 90 minutes, and in order to control the rapidity and extent of alcohol metabolism, drinking, eating and taking medications were forbidden prior to the experiment. The results are that those who were treated with disgusting visuals made strict moral judgments whereas those who drank made lenient ones. Post hoc showed that the group that was treated with both disgusting visuals and alcohol also made lenient moral judgment. This can be interpreted as drinking reducing the effect of disgusting feeling on driving harsh moral judgment. This study provides insight into the cause of lenient moral judgments that appear during acute alcohol consumption. Finally, the restrictions and the direction for the further study are provided.
