유아교사양성과정에서의 사례기반 다문화교육 교과목 개발 및 적용

Abstract

본 연구는 유아교사양성과정에서의 다문화교육 교과목을 새로운 접근인 사례기반 학습을 토대로 개발하여 적용하고 그 효과를 검증해보고자 하였다. 유아교사양성과정에서의 사례기반 다문화교육 교과목은 교육목적, 교육목표, 교육내용, 교수단계 및 평가로 구성된다. 사례기반 다문화교육 교과목의 적용효과를 검증하기 위하여 문화적 공감, 다문화교육신념, 문화적 역량을 변인으로 선정하였고 2016년 8월 30일부터 2016년 12월 6일까지 경기도 소재 3년제 유아교육과 3학년 A, B반을 대상으로 실험하였다. 사전 검사 결과 실험집단과 비교집단은 동질한 집단임을 확인하였고 실험집단에는 사례기반 다문화교육 교과목을 적용하여 15주에 걸쳐 진행하였고 비교집단에는 강의식 다문화교육 전공수업을 실시하였는데 본 연구에서 개발된 유아교사양성과정에서의 사례기반 다문화교육 교과목은 예비유아교사의 문화적 공감능력, 다문화교육신념, 문화적 역량에 통계적으로 효과가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해, 본 연구에서 개발한 사례 기반 다문화교육 교과목은 예비유아교사의 다문화교육 실천능력을 증진시키는 새로운 접근의 효과적 방안이라고 강조할 수 있으며, 더 나아가 실제 유아교육현장에서 유아다문화교육의 주체자로서 유아다문화교육의 내실화를 도모할 것이라고 기대할 수 있겠다.

This study aimed to develop and apply a new case-based multicultural education course approach for early childhood preservice teachers and test its effectiveness so that multicultural education could be made substantial in early childhood education practice in South Korea. The case-based multicultural education for preservice early childhood teachers had statistical effects on cultural empathy, multicultural education belief, and cultural competence. On the basis of these results, it can be emphasized that the case-based multicultural education is an effective device for a new approach to improve multicultural education practices for preservice early childhood teachers. Furthermore, the model is expected to help teachers as multicultural education providers for young children in early childhood education practice make multicultural education for young children substantial.
