Abstract
This article is written for explaining Yangpa Jeong taehwa's thoughts based on researching the public records and private ones and its interpretation depending on the contemporary scientific theories. The principal viewpoint is focused on th fact that he had been standing in the Royal Court of Chosun Dynasty not as a confucian scholar but as a politician, that he, as a prime minister, had had his own way of thinking, and thus that his way of thinking had shown a unique style which had been different from scholars. The point of argument is composed as follow: Firstly starts the argument of approaching method, because he had left no record which could show his thoughts or philosophy systematically. Secondly his cultural context in his family lineage and course of constructing his knowledge and thoughts is cleared. Thirdly main marks of his life and important thinking is made brighter with 4 lower sections and themes. They are as follow: the first is love with an eye for recognizing bale men, the second is his intention directing for the essence of the matter and usefulness. The third is his ability to make official matters harmonious and amicable. The last is his typical attitude of management of the state with forethought and allegiance to kings. In the last chapter as concluding remark, meaning of his viewpoint and attitude is argued according to the contemporary science such as Gregory Bateson's theoretical viewpoints. Especially quoted concepts from Bateson are double bind, frame and flexibility, the first order, second order, and third order of thinking. From the view with the concepts his thoughts and attitudes are appraised very highly because of the result that he had kept a larger thinking frame than any other scholar-official in his same time, that he had been thinking in the second order what is more on the third order, and thus that during the time when he had been working as the prime minister the whole system of Chosun state could continue its good circulation without any disorder like as continuous party strifes.
