- Abstract
- The purpose of the study was to identify the depression and psychological well-being of the menopausal women through a consecutive aroma massage program(hand massage and scalp massage). A total 43menopausal women were randomly assigned in the aroma massage group(n=21) and control group(n=22).
Subjects selected in this study participation in aroma massage in 4 time/week for 8 week. depression and psychological well-being data were collected three pre-assessment(base line), middle-assessment(4 week)and post-assessment(8 week) with same assessment questionnaire. We used of experimental design, which consists of aroma massage group and control group and 2×3 factorial design with repeated-measures which is composed of time in measuring point. The analyzed data were obtained through comparative analysis of preceding studies that are similar to this study and the result was as follows : The result indicated that the participation in the consecutive aroma massage remarkably decreased the depression level of a menopausal women. In addition, consecutive participation in menopausal women' aroma massage program is helpful for improvement of psychological well-being such as positive relation, purpose in life, personal growth, autonomy, environmental mastery.
