- Abstract
- This study examines the state and causes of hate speech in C University's Everytime(에브리타임) “Hot Posts” and comments. In C University's Eta(에타), hate speech stemmed mainly from anti-feminist and educationist stances, and more than 90% was directed against feminists, arguing against affirmative action practices on the grounds of “reverse racisim”. These examples of hate speech are symptomatic of a distorted sense of discrimination that holds “fairness” as a golden rule, and this discrimnatory stance is expressed through educationist hate speech as well, following the bulk of misogynistic hate speech. It can be argued that the “male minority” identity of men in their twnties is at the root of these symptoms, and that college education must also play a part in eradicating this phenomenon.
