- Abstract
- Polyurethane having good mechanical properties was designed to have electro conductivity in the form of composite material with silver particle. The dispersion is very important factor for composite material to have homogeneous properties. The aim of this study is to understand the structure of polyurethane matrix have a good thermal stability and know the most appropriate matrix structure to disperse silver particle by changing hard and soft segment of polyurethane. The thermal stability is increased with increasing the number of aromatic compound and hard segment ratio in the polyurethane chain. Silver particle more dispersive in the matrix having aromatic compounds when the soft segments are all the same. In contrast, each hard segment all the same, the low molecular weight polyethylene glycol made better structural condition for silver particle dispersion because of its chain mobility. But a sheet resistance of composite materials showed different aspects. In this case, the inter connection between silver particles is more important its dispersion. In this study, the PU-silver composite composed of NDI, low molecular weight PEG and silver showed the best thermal stability and electro conductivity.
