- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to examine the cross-cultural similarities and differences American intent to participate in leisure activities through use of existing and newly developed models of adherence behavior. In order to explain the differences in leisure sports activities participation American cultures, the theory of reasoned action(TRA), theory of planned behavior(TPB), and Modified Theory of Confucian Reasoned Action(MTCRA) were used. To achieve the purpose of this study, 276 of student in an University located in western United State were sampled. Results showed a American participants were found to be similar with regard to stronger behavior, perceived behavior control(PBC), and attitude(Aact) functionally determinating participation behavior. Additionally, the path coefficient for face saving(FS) via exercise behavior was significant, in the Modified Theory of Confucian Reasoned Action model significantly influence leisure sport behavior. These results were discussed with theoretical and empirical evidences in leisure sport behaviors and future studies were suggested.
