예술적 데이터 시각화 고찰

Abstract

This paper present issues on aesthetic data visualization. Since data visualization only recently got attention from artists, faithful published researches of experimental aesthetic data visualization are trifle - except intermittent exhibition records - than science side’s ones. Therefore, the strength of aesthetic data visualization, looking at the data with new perspective, which is the most interesting factor of experimental data visualization issues, is difficult to be organized through empirical study due to insufficient information. But fortunately, by exertion of foreseeing artists and curators, we can spot some of notable interdisciplinary exhibitions and publications such as SIGGRAPH and Ars Electronica. The author also was one of the participants in the event and watched many intriguing projects, but it is not easy to sum them up into single vision, because each artist’s value, method, philosophy, and aesthetic preference are indigenous.
