- This article provides a summary of acute aortic syndrome (AAS), focusing especially on the multidetector CT technique and findings of AAS, as well as recent concepts regarding the subtypes of AAS, consisting of aortic dissection, intramural hematoma, penetrating atherosclerotic ulcer, and unstable aortic aneurysm. © 2010 Elsevier Inc.
