- Abstract
- A neutron beam, generated from a proton beam with an energy of 26.5 MeV, is used to modify the polymer films annealed at different temperatures, and the effects of neutron irradiation on the crystallinity and ordering of the polymer chains and hence the ferroelectric properties of the films are analyzed. The ferroelectric properties are characterized using piezoresponse force microscopy and polarization-voltage measurements. A comparison of the non-irradiated and irradiated P(VDF-TrFE) films shows that the remnant polarization of the irradiated films increases to 17% owing to the microstructural changes induced in them.
