Abstract
We propose and experimentally demonstrate a variable frequency lock-in detection technique for Brillouin optical correlation domain analysis (BOCDA). The beat noise appearing in the acquisition of Brillouin gain spectrum by ordinary lock-in detection is investigated, and a method of varying the chopping frequency is newly applied to minimize the beat noise. © 2011 National Sun Yat-Sen Univ.
