- Abstract
- In tile mosaic work, the spatial coherence of tile direction is one of the important features for contributing aesthetic impression. In order to make a mimic mosaic image, we propose a tile mosaic method to arrange tiles spatially coherently. For this, we create offset lines from major edge images and extract offset areas to arrange tiles along the center lines of the areas. Finally, we obtain CVDs by each area to arrange tiles so that rectangular tiles were created, despite that Voronoi cells being used as tiles. Our algorithm made tile arrangements with coherent directions and created the gap between tiles free of tile overlaps and having a certain width. © 2011 IEEE.
