- Abstract
- The travel notes that started from Li Dao-yuan's Shuijingzhu and passed through the period of Liu Zong-yuan & Su Shi showed unprecedented characteristics when it reached the time of Yuan Hong-dao. His remarkable features and novelty are revealed in many ways, but the most unique of them is that many people appear in his works. Yuan Hong-dao's travel notes moved away from the limitation of describing only natural scenery in the past, and extended the object of description to many people, organically combined human and landscape. Based on this point, we will take a closer look at the people in the work of Yuan Hong-dao. Furthermore, we would like to explore the literary value and significance of the Yuan Hong-dao's travel notes.
In the work, Yuan Hong-dao puts a description of people in the depiction of natural objects. He not only maximized the effect of expressing his feelings and the meaning, but also demonstrated the concrete implementation of his argument which 'I try to write that my heart want'. His claim was not merely a text, but attempt to enter real world, cherish life and respect personality through the pursuit of "true, goodness, beauty". So, he also tried to reach a level where he could write with his accumulated experience and energy of life.
